How does home-nursing work?
A
There are a few options:
- Day duty – 9 to 12 hours
- Night duty – 12 hours
- Live-in – 24 hours

Is it the same nurse every shift?
A
Yes, but she will be relieved for time off when necessary.

Will medical aid cover the costs?
A
Yes, if you have an authorisation and a motivation letter from the doctor with the patient’s diagnosis. You will also have to include a quote from Isisa Healthcare on the email to the medical aid.

How do I book a nurse privately?
A
We will provide you with a quote and documents for completion; and, you will be required to pay a deposit.

Do I provide the nurse with a meal?
A
Yes – a simple meal, or she can share the family meal. Alternatively, she can provide her own meal at a cost of R30 per shift, payable by the family.

Does the night nurse need a place to sleep?
A
No – it is only necessary to make sleeping arrangements for live-in nurses.

Are the nurses supervised?
A
Yes – Isisa Healthcare facilitators visit your home to assess the patient and check on the nurses.
